SIK Hin Tak
I got my MBBS from the University of Sydney. I worked as a medical practitioner for a few years before pursuing a spiritual path in Buddhism. After learning and practising for about 10 years, I decided to enrich my Buddhist knowledge and I took an MA then a PhD in Buddhist Studies in HKU. Wishing to apply my knowledge for helping people, I further took the MSocSc in Counselling in HKU. Currently I am a Buddhist monk, a scholar and teacher of Buddhist Studies, a candidate of certified counsellor (of HKPCA), and a part-time student of the MA in Psychology in CUHK. I hope to learn more about contemporary psychology (and Buddhist psychology), for researching and applying the knowledge for the well-being of people.
Research Interests:
Mind-body-spiritual health; Buddhist psychology, psychotherapy & counselling; meditations; Buddhist medicine.
