Research Interests

Identity formation of Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) students; Impacts of stigmatization on D/HH people’s psychological development; Stigma-reduction

Bio

I am now a final year undergraduate in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Linguistics under Hong Kong Sign Language Studies Stream.

Aspirations

Thanks to my minor in Hong Kong Sign Language Studies, I am glad to have met and chatted with D/HH people from different fields. I am deeply moved by how passionate and thankful they are towards lives. Yet, they still reflect that there are a lot of stigmatization and discrimination at schools and workplaces, even though many of these are claimed “inclusive/mainstreamed”. I believe by resolving public’s misunderstandings towards the D/HH community, more respect and appreciation would be given to this minority group, which in turns influences their identity formation and psychological well-being positively.

Hobbies

I do Adventure-based training for schools and church. Planning outdoor activities and getting close to nature help me unwind. I also enjoy singing and learning different musical instruments.
