YK Cham
I graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Science (Major: Journalism and Communication). Upon graduation, I have worked in various sectors including journalism, public services, events management and public relations.
I am fascinated by communication. I especially enjoy reading and discovering human stories as they provide perspectives to see the reasons behind a story — “why we do things the way we do?”
To build a more diverse society, communication may be one of the keys to link teller to listeners, and listeners to one another and I believe that can foster connection, understanding and empathy. I hope my skills and vision can contribute to promoting mental health awareness and well-being in Hong Kong, as well as challenging the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.
